Crisis Stabilization Programs - Adult
|
Treatment Services (Dalton/Whitfield County - 28 beds) and Residential Treatment Unit (Cedartown/Polk county - 30 beds) serve the following primary counties for Crisis Stabilization, as well as other residents of the State of Georgia: Bartow, Cherokee, Fannin, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Murray, Paulding, Pickens, Polk, Whitfield, Haralson, Dade, Walker, Catoosa and Chattooga.
These two programs provide short-term Crisis Stabilization in two (2) residential treatment facilities for adult mental health and addictive diseases detoxification at a cost of less than $320 per day. Both programs are licensed as Emergency Receiving Facilities and certified by the Department of Human Resources and are CARF Accredited. Consumers are under the medical care of a physician with 24-hour RN care and Case Managers assisting with aftercare planning and therapeutic services. |

Admissions Criteria: |
- Age 18 or over
- Non-combative and ability to stabilize within at least seven days
- Ambulatory and able to perform activities of daily living
- Consumer does not require IV, oxygen, or catheter care
- Free of infectious disease requiring isolation procedures, i.e., open wounds, etc.
- Must be in acute psychiatric or addictive disease crisis requiring 24-hour supervision for detoxification from alcohol and other drugs or stabilization from a mental health disorder with a DSM IV diagnosis
- Crisis Stabilization Physicians' approval after assessment of consumers' medical and psychiatric appropriateness for this residential level of care (see attached Admission Criteria)

Exclusions Criteria: |
- Under age 18
- Medical complications prohibiting residential treament
- Consumers exhibiting acts of violence
- Consumers requiring long-term care

Services: |
- Emergency receiving facility
- Short-term 24-hour residential services (average length of stay may not exceed 10 days)
- Short-term detoxification from alcohol and other drugs
- Psychiatric evaluations and histories
- Nursing assessments and laboratory screenings
|

- Individual and family therapy
- Group therapy and patient education groups
- Medication management
- Transitional care services if clinically indicated (two beds allowed at Treatment Services and three beds at Residential Treatment Unit)
- Discharge and aftercare planning
